![]() ![]() Ideally a fair range of gears (13 speed is generally considered the minimum for OTR, 18 speed preferred) to give you more opportunities to be in the power band when certain areas push your truck to it's limit (which their are plenty of these scenarios between NoCal, New Mexi, Colorado, Idaho). ![]() The lower the final drive, the higher the top speed, but the slower the acceleration higher final drive is going to be the complete opposite (faster accel but slower top speed). Gear ratios are what you're after, not a specific truck. My W900 can pull 0-50 fairly quick (pretty much the average length of a interstate on-ramp) but falls on its face pretty much right at that, taking almost a hundred in-game miles to get from 60 to 90mph on anything other than a downhill.įOR OP: as others said, majority of the trucks are going to be the same when equipped with high tier engines. Originally posted by ttower:Being able to get up to high speed quickly would be more important than the top speed alone.Ĭannot say that enough. You have access to all the trucks you can get in the game without mods. The game also has no DLC trucks, and never will. That being said, most of the trucks will be very similar, and the bigger motor and lower Final Drive ratio on the transmission the better. Being able to get up to high speed quickly would be more important than the top speed alone. The game has turns, and traffic, and other things that will force you to slow down fairly often when trying to go that fast. I havent done that kind of speed in a long time though, but I have little reason to believe its changed.Īs for the OP, Acceleration has a larger role to play in this game, both realistically and trying to go fast. I think 104 MPH was a top for the W900 on flat ground as I had mine specced a while ago. Originally posted by Nite69:it doesn t matter, all trucks seem to have a hard cap of 100 mph, this isn't a race game anyway its a heavy haul sim There is not a hard cap of 100MPH, but the trucks wont go much faster than that anyway.
